Success Story

Messe München GmbH

Case study

To optimize the contract creation process, interactive templates were developed for various standard contracts, which employees can fill out independently. These templates are accessible to everyone via the company’s intranet, allowing for the creation of frequently needed contract documents without additional support from the legal department. The introduction of these templates ensures that all created contracts are based on uniform and legally secure foundations.

The past

Before the implementation of LAWLIFT, there were no centralized and binding contract templates in the company. Different versions of contracts were circulating within the company and were used as a basis for new contracts without consultation with the legal department. This led to numerous problems, such as erroneous wording, outdated clauses, or inconsistent regulations. Moreover, many employees were uncertain when it came to contract creation, resulting in that even simple standard contracts required significant consultative effort by the legal department. This tied up valuable resources and delayed the entire process.

The new approach

With the introduction of LAWLIFT, standardized contract templates were developed that enable employees to independently and legally securely create contracts without relying on continuous support from the legal department. The templates are available in both German and English, presenting significant added value especially for international teams and cross-location collaborations. This automation increased the quality of the created contracts while simultaneously reducing the workload of the legal department.

Impact

The use of LAWLIFT has significantly relieved the legal department. The number of inquiries regarding standard contracts has substantially decreased, allowing the legal department to focus more on complex issues, strategic legal questions, and innovative projects. Meanwhile, all employees benefit from a simpler, more efficient, and legally secure creation of contracts, there by accelerating business processes overall.

With LAWLIFT, employees can now independently generate important contract documents, such as NDAs, barter agreements, terminations, and contract packages from various agreements.

The introduction of LAWLIFT has substantially reduced the time required for contract creation and maintenance. Previously, over 800 hours per year were spent on contract creation and more than 700 hours per year on maintenance. With LAWLIFT, these times were reduced to about 100 hours per year for creation and approximately 150 hours per year for maintenance. The introduction of LAWLIFT has resulted in a time saving of approximately 82%.

"Thanks to Lawlift, we can rely on colleagues being equipped with the necessary tools to create standard contracts themselves. This leaves the legal department with more time to deal with more complex legal issues."

Daniela Stöckle, Lawyer, Deputy Director Legal at Messe München GmbH.
