A central challenge during filming is to conclude numerous contracts with filmmakers in the shortest possible time. In addition to the contracts, master sheets play an important role as they contain the necessary personal information for payroll and other compensation components. These data must be quickly and accurately forwarded to the accounting team to ensure a smooth and efficient process. LOOKSfilm combines these requirements into one LAWLIFT template to collect all the information from all parties involved in a standardized manner and always keep track of everything.
Previously, these master sheets were distributed by the production management in various versions to the individual persons – via email, sometimes even by mail or on-site at the set. This made it difficult to track which of these documents were in circulation or remained too long with the filmmakers. This lack of clarity was an additional burden for the production management, which had to laboriously "monitor" these documents. Additionally, the information often had to be requested multiple times, as the entries were often illegible, incomplete, or erroneous.
By using a LAWLIFT publication for the transmission of master sheet data, whose link is directly in the contract, the data can now be recorded uniformly and transmitted directly to the responsible department, the personnel accounting. Via the dashboard in LAWLIFT, the documents can be viewed and checked by several people in a structured way. This results in significant time and labor savings and prevents redundancies.
At the beginning, a small amount of internal training was required to use the publication. Now the process runs smoothly in connection with film projects. The procedure has already been extended to other types of employment relationships. The efficiency and transparency of contract and master sheet data management have significantly improved, which has a positive impact on the overall production process in particular and the organizational workflow of the corporate group in general.
